Colin Stokes has a great point here, movies shape a lot of how people act. Teaching boys to join a team for a greater purpose and fight against the abusive boys and this was one of the best points.
I agree with everything he is saying. Now that I look at it boys are being taught that the only way to become a hero is to go fight and their only reward is a girl but they aren't learning how to build a team/make friends and how to become a leader.
Agree with the points he is making, but also I think movies that are being released recently such as Frozen and Brave are improving. These show a change in typical Disney movies - instead of showing true love and pushing stereotypes these new films tell a story of embracing the characters uniqueness and highlighting that love can be for example sisterly love not just the love that a princess and prince share

ReplyDeleteIt's great to see the development of films and how they are essentially shaping the future of our kids.
