How movies teach manhood

  1. Colin Stokes has a great point here, movies shape a lot of how people act. Teaching boys to join a team for a greater purpose and fight against the abusive boys and this was one of the best points.

  2. I agree with everything he is saying. Now that I look at it boys are being taught that the only way to become a hero is to go fight and their only reward is a girl but they aren't learning how to build a team/make friends and how to become a leader.

  3. Agree with the points he is making, but also I think movies that are being released recently such as Frozen and Brave are improving. These show a change in typical Disney movies - instead of showing true love and pushing stereotypes these new films tell a story of embracing the characters uniqueness and highlighting that love can be for example sisterly love not just the love that a princess and prince share

  4. It's good to see people acknowledging the way the media shapes people

  5. It's great to see the development of films and how they are essentially shaping the future of our kids.
