Exemplar answers for Doc Martin

Scroll down a few pages - the fourth one is excellent. Third one's almost as good.

Look at 1 and mark together.

Compare 2 and 3 and award marks.

Regional Identity homework - due Monday

International stereotypes...

Task 1: Use the above website to prove that:

1) Stereotypes say as much about the person judging as they do about the person they are judging. (100 words)

2) Stereotypes, while false, are based on an element of truth.

Task 2: Make a map of UK stereotypes based on YOUR perceptions.

Here's  one I've put together for UK stereotypes.
The first one is someone else's, the next two are mine... and then I've left one blank for you.

Task 3: Do some further reading and prepare to discuss:

An article in the Daily Mail on the difference between northern girls and southern girls...

A good collection of links, with songs, videos, and articles on regional differences...

Regional Identity

Extract from Doc Martin. This whole show plays on the idea of a city doctor who's moved to the country... where everyone is much less professional, and much more human.

We've been struggling to gather enough evidence from the clips we've been watching, so we're going to play a game with this one.
